What computer should I buy for an Art College?
The teacher said that Macs are generally used throughout the art field, but should I buy a desktop or a laptop? What would be the advantages of either? I also don’t want to blow a ridiculous amount of money. What about tablets as well, should I take them into consideration?
My daughter was issued a tablet by her school in 2005. A new HP. She found the tablet function to be next to useless and they could have given here something for 1/2 the price that was just as good. She got a conventional laptop for grad school.
A laptop will be more useful to you than a desktop machine. You will need the portability.
As for Mac vs PC, you should call the school and speak to someone in the faculty where you will be taking your degree and ask them if a Mac or PC is preferred.
